A paradise beach!

We left our hotel in Ao Nang early and got to the beach for half past eight in the morning yesterday. Half an hour later along with six others and with our backpack on our back, we waded out into the sea as the tide was low to get on a narrowboat.

The boat headed east around peaking karsts and after a short stop at Ton Sai to let off four of the people we headed for Railay West where again we jumped off the boat with our packs into knee deep sea and waded out onto the most beautiful beach I have ever been to.

The two bays of east and west Railey are a mere five minute stroll between each and we headed to the east side and climbed up a steep hillside to get to our bungalow on stilts. The view from here is beautiful though we won’t stay as it’s a little far from everything.

Mr W is off on a three day mission to learn all things rock-climbing so I am sitting at the beach having a Papaya Salad, a Margarita and intermittently looking up from my laptop to see paradise! Wow – I want to stay here for a long time!

You guys would love it. Plenty to do if you want to – or my favourite – do nothing but gaze at the sea with a cocktail in hand!

    Hi Shelley .

I am off to Krabi soon and stay in Ao Nang for few days. Since my friends are not so comfortable with snorkeling activity, we tend to find other option but still, I am curious if we could just drop by nearest beach by walking / motorcycle distance rather than taking boats. We’re interested in enjoying nice beach scenery, sunset and all. Do you have any suggestion for this? I am only stay there for 3 days and 2 nights. Probably not doing any water sports activity 😛 Kindly please email me for long chat if you may. Thanks !

      Hi Zachary

The best beaches are on Railay which you can only access by boat even though it is part of the mainland. There are karsts and heavy forestation with no roads or links from the rest of the mainland. I would highly recommend you take a boat out for a couple of days to railay to see soem of the best beaches.

      Have a fantastic time.

      Shelley
